Jonathan is a product designer, software engineer and team builder who enjoys contributing to the growth of the Chicago startup community. His consumer-facing mobile apps have reached hundreds of thousands of users and have been featured by Apple in their App Store as well as on devices in their retail stores. His enterprise-facing web platforms and mobile apps have made an impact on a number of industries and have been used by tens of thousands of business users spanning campus recruiting, automotive, energy, aviation, healthcare, mobile commerce and security.
In his current role, Jonathan serves as Director of Product at Tempus, a technology company that has built an operating system to battle cancer. He is also a Co-Founder of WÜF, where he has been working to bring to market the world's smartest dog collar after a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised nearly $100,000.
Additionally, he has held numerous product and engineering leadership roles over the past decade, helping to build the foundation for several Chicago-based companies including Zest Health, Yello and Lextech. He also serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University where he has taught mobile application design and prototyping based on his experiences developing B2B and B2C mobile applications for both consumers and the Fortune 1000.
Academically, Jonathan received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in computer & information systems from Northwestern University.
A number of app developers have shared a few of their experiences, metrics and numbers on Quora, so that would be my first suggestion. Denys Zhadanov and his impressive team at Readdle also publish stories on their company blog highlighting metrics that might be very useful considering their apps are almost always in the top 100.
Beyond that, I'd also suggest having a look at App Annie, which offers a continuously growing source of indexed app store / marketplace data for all apps. They also have a number of paid products and content depending on your need for competitive intelligence and insights on your own apps.
